increasingly are being rapidly multiply and intensify the interrelations between the disciplines of Education and Training and Information Technology and Cybernetics. Product of these relationships are presented in sometimes unexpected ways, but with original and effective ideas, new tools and methodologies, which identify new synergies between the two disciplines. Accordingly, the primary purpose of the Ibero-American Symposium on Education, Cybernetics and Informatics (SIECI 2009) is to provide a forum to academicians, professionals and consultants in both disciplines: the educational and computer / cyberspace.

Who can participate in SIECI 2009?

To comply with the stated purpose, it invites researchers from the school area and Cyber \u200b\u200bTechnologies and Information (ICT) to present both the results of their work research and possible new ideas or working hypotheses that can generate and whose plausibility, feasibility, relevance and usefulness merit further research and reflection. It also invites scholars, practitioners and consultants to present case studies, applications and information systems developed for specific purposes, and new ideas, designs and methodologies. Also invites researchers in education and teachers to submit their thoughts on the impact of ICT in education and in their methods and designs corporate training or society in general. Similarly, managers are invited to schools and corporate human resource managers to present the issues they may have, the effects, positive and negative, observed following the application of ICT to the educational and corporate training. Overall, both are invited to create solutions, or ideas for solutions, and those who have problems that can be solved in ways that relate to ICT education, or have seen new problems created by an application of ICT to education. In this framework, are invited to participate by sending articles and / or organizing an invited session on a topic of interest to the organizer.

Decisions on acceptances relating to items listed will be based on content reviews or the CV of the author. Session items will not be evaluated and a decision on acceptance will be based on the topic and the CV of the author.



What questions do not exclude others, deserve answers or reflections on ICT?

  • What is the impact of ICT in education and training?

  • How are ICTs affecting and / or improving the effectiveness and / or efficiency of education and training?

  • What new models, methods, methodologies and educational networks are emerging through the application of ICT in this area?

can participate actively in SIECI 2009?

Those interested in participating in SIECI 2009, may do so through the following not mutually exclusive:

  • Submit one or more research, solutions, presentations, case studies or any of the types of work mentioned in the next section.

  • organize one or more Invited Sessions and panel (with a minimum of 5 papers).

  • Review and evaluate research papers and articles submitted.

  • promote and disseminate the purposes of the symposium.

  • recommend it to academic researchers for their active participation in research papers and articles submitted. Propose

  • organizations, institutes and universities as sponsors.


What are the types of work and presentations with which you can participate?

  • preliminary or final results of research.

  • Papers concerning reflections on experiences of professional practice.

  • Papers relating to case studies.

  • Papers relating to opinions based on experiences and insights possible and / or working hypotheses.

  • Reports on the development of particular information systems or specific methodologies that have shown effectiveness in implementation.

  • thoughtful review and summary of papers published in a given area.

  • Papers relating to the development of theoretical or methodological.

  • Presentation of innovations, both in terms of products, such as processes, methods and methodologies.

Decisions on acceptances related to the work or proposals presented are based on the reviews conducted by experts or the CV of the author. Items of special sessions are not evaluated by the program committee of the symposium and the decision on acceptance will be based on the topic and the CV of the author.



What is the format for abstracts or drafts of Articles?

abstracts or drafts of articles must be delivered according to the following specifications:

  • Item Interest Area for one of those mentioned above as items the symposium.

  • Authors and coauthors with their names, address, phone / fax, email (e-mail), affiliation and curriculum vitae.

  • Article Title.

  • Summary only presentation (200 to 500 words), extended abstract of the article (from 400 to 2,000 words) or full working draft (2,000 to 5,000 words) in English or Portuguese.
